So anyway, MomoCon. I usually am not so big into anime cons, because I'm not so into anime anymore, and usually the crowd is a little younger than I'd rather. Buuuuut there was a good sized video game contingent... both voice actors for Commander Shepard from Mass Effect were there, and Steve Blum, who was Grunt the Krogan (as well as Spike from Cowboy Bebop and like, everything ever).
There was a massive Homestuck showing, as per normal, and several animes I'm only vaguely aware off. Surprisingly, there were a LOT of South Park cosplayers, which was odd. And Adventure Time of course, because its fab.
I met a great chick who custom built a gravity gun which was AMAZING. Apparently she also did War Machine in the cosplay contest, but I couldn't see it....
Oh right. About that. So Team Bioshock pulled out our Rapture costumes for the cosplay contest... BUT. The website and the schedule stated that the pre-judging was 5-7pm, with the contest itself at 8:30pm. So we show up at 6:30 to get judged. And guess what. We are told that the prejudging was over, and had ended. AT 4:00. WHAT THE WHAT. We even pulled up the schedule for them and literally, all they could say was "oh, sorry." Really? Sigh.
Anyway, they let us walk onstage at the contest. But no judging. But let me tell you, even with two of our kind working as handlers, in a dark room, Big Daddy and I (as Big Sister) couldn't see ANYTHING. It was terrifying! But the crowd was literally SCREAMING when we got up there and it was pretty exciting!!!
And then the EmCee, who happened to be Mark Meer (Commander Shepard), WANTED to take pictures with us. I actually didn't realize he was even there until they were shuffling where he was in the photo and walked in front of me, and suddenly, holy crap, its a dude in N7 armo-OHMYGOD WAIT ITS ACTUALLY COMMANDER SHEPARD.
Sorry. Photo is a little bleh. BUT STILL. EEEEEE!!!
